Tatai in Kohkong Province.

Tatai is just only about 20 km from Koh Kong town, people prefer to stay in the town as there are more options. Tatai does not offer many options for you. Both well-known 4 Rivers lodge and Rainbow lodge can only be reached by river and they are located in different directions from the National Road No. 48. Either of the lodge is not the place for backpacker or budget traveler. 

It is quite a good place for people who love to see natural environment or forest and also for someone looking for relaxing or releasing their stress from study or work since this place has a very beautiful scenery mainly the water fall and the greenish trees or jungles located along the river side. The waterfall has two stages. The first stage is 5 to 6 meters high; and the second stage is 12 to 15 meters high.

The history of this Ta Tai cascade is related to the legend that say a man named Ta Taiand his son went to the waterfall to fish because the waterfall was the joining point between fresh water and salt water. There was a storm and the resulting floods carried away Ta Tai’s son.Four or five days later, however, the boy was found at the same spot from where he disappeared. When Ta Tai questioned his son, the boy said: “There is someone who took me to a secret place, where he turned into a vampire and wanted to kill me. But suddenly Ta Eysei (a hermit) appeared to save me and took me back.” After hearing the story, Ta Tai and his wife believed that their son was saved by Ta Eysei or Neak Sachang (another mane of hermit). Ever since then, the Waterfall has been called Ta Eysei Waterfall or Ta Tai Waterfall.
